Climbing Camel's Hump - Long Trail, Vermont

Distance: 7 Miles ............. Elevation Gain: 2680' ............ Summit Elevation: 4083'

July 3, 2018 - After two days of aggressive climbing in the Adirondacks I took a day off to climb Vermont's third highest and perhaps most recognized peak. Using the Monroe Trail on its eastern flank the trail was a moderate 7 miles out and back - what I call a day off. Nonetheless, the trails of Vermont are rocky as ever. It was a pleasure to power-hike up and then run back down in two hours. Unfortunately the top was obscured by low morning clouds, so there was no view for me of the beautiful surrounding verdant landscape of the Green Mountains.
