May 1, 2017 - Mike Monyak and I set up camp where the Paria River reaches the Colorado River near Marble Canyon. We enjoyed a veggie feast after exploring the lower reaches of the Paria by wading up through its tepid muddy waters. Evidence of a long standing ranch with cemetary and lots of old pumping equipment along its banks gave us an historical perspective of what life must have been like for the desert rats that settled this country a century ago.
